KUCHING, 4 Nov: The Government of Sarawak continues to prioritize the development of young talent in public service through training opportunities at world-class universities and educational institutions, including Harvard University, Oxford University and Cambridge University.

Sarawak Government Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said that the initiative aims to produce competitive civil servants with high leadership capabilities to ensure state public services remain relevant and ready for future challenges.

According to him, the increasing number of young officers in Sarawak's civil service, especially from Generation X, Millennials and Gen Z who have different aspirations, perspectives and expectations, makes continuous investment in developing their potential a priority.

"In this regard, we will continue to strengthen the development of human capital of Sarawak Public Service through various training initiatives, skills improvement and leadership development programs, including sending young officers to trainings at leading international educational and training institutions such as Harvard University, Oxford University, University of Cambridge and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

"We are also grateful to the Prime Minister of Sarawak and the Cabinet line for the great allocation made available to enable members of the civil service to enhance their respective competencies in the face of future challenges", he said.

He said this while addressing the Sarawak Civil Service Innovation And Creativity Award (SCSICA) Day in the Borneo Kuching Convention Centre (BCCK), here today.
