KUCHING, 4 NOV: The success of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK-13) should not be judged solely on the amount of allocations spent or projects completed, but rather should be measured through development impacts and real benefits enjoyed by the people.
Sarawak Prime Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said that the effectiveness of implementation of RMK-13 is critical to ensure aspirations of the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) can be realized by 2030.
According to him, Sarawak is now in an important phase of the implementation of PCDS 2030, so every development agenda under RMK-13 should be translated into effective action, based on clear objectives, specific responsibilities and ongoing monitoring.
"Any shortcomings or limitations in implementation should be identified and addressed immediately so as not to interfere with planned progress.
I call on all civil servants to act with full commitment, take appropriate steps to address any implementation constraints as soon as possible and ensure that the results set out can be achieved. We must act immediately and accelerate implementation, as the time is shortening to realize Sarawak's development aspirations by 2030", he said.
He said this while addressing the Sarawak Civil Service Innovation And Creativity Award (SCSICA) Day of Public Services and Awards at Borneo Kuching Convention Centre (BCCK), here, today.
In attendance were Deputy Prime Minister of Sarawak Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embassy, Datuk Amar Awang Central Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Secretary to the Government of Sarawak Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Federal Secretary of Sarawak Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan, as well as other names.
