PC Image powerful use of AI in the Sarawak business sector

KUCHING, 20 Oct: PC Image Sdn Bhd committed to helping the business sector and government agencies in Sarawak leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to increase productivity, reduce operating costs and improve service efficiency.

PC Image's Managing Director, Simon Kong, said that AI use should focus on solving the real challenges facing organizations rather than just following technological developments.

"The biggest opportunity is not just using AI, but how that technology can be used to solve real business problems", he said while speaking at Future of Business Technology 2026: AI, Infrastructure, Design & Digital Innovation Forum here today.

According to him, PC Image which started in Sarawak over 25 years ago and now has 48 branches across the country is also exploring the use of AI in its own operations, including inventory management, manpower and customer service.

The initiative aims to build expertise to help customers implement digital transformation through practical technological solutions.

Meanwhile, the Director of Dell Technologies Malaysia, Koay Tze Siang said that it intends to expand the Dell AI Innovation Hub initiative into Sarawak through cooperation with local partners, including PC Image.

"Our aim is not only to bring best practices from global technology partners, but also to develop local AI solution providers to strengthen the local AI ecosystem", he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Artificial Intelligence Centre (SAIC), Prof. I'm going to see Dr. Patrick Then stressed the importance of public, private sector and international technology partnership to realize Sarawak's aspirations as a regional AI leader by 2030.

"We want to bring the impact of AI to everyone in the field, whether it's in industry, urban areas, suburbs or rural areas", he explained.

As an example of the practical use of technology, Simon also used Rokid AI smart glasses in his speech, thus showing how technology can make everyday tasks easier and increase productivity. - TVS
