JJ Gold & Diamonds brings the legacy of family business to a new phase.

KUCHING, Oct 20: The opening of JJ Gold & Diamonds on India Street is a continuation of the legacy of family business that has been passed down through generations.

Its director, Hidayatulla Basher said that the opening of the premises on India Street marks another new phase in his family's business journey which started with Majeed Restaurant before expanding to several other businesses.

"The opening of JJ Gold & Diamonds is not just another step in the business world, but a continuation of a family legacy that has been established for several generations", he said speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the premises here today.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the son of Sarawak Premier, Dayang Norjihan Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Brother Johari Tun Openg and North Kuching Mayor, Dato Hilmy Othman.

According to Hidayatulla, the premises have their own historical value as it is owned by the Board of Trustees of Khairat Masjid Bandar Kuching and has been rented and used by his family since the time of his grandfather to his wife.

He said the family business journey was continued through the first bookstore, photo studio and textile store business through Jasmin Jawahar Company before entering the jewellery and money exchange services sector.

Additionally, each phase of the business has its own challenges, but the spirit of providing the best service to customers remains fundamental in ensuring the survival of the family business.

"We hope that this business will be well received by the community, continue to gain customer trust and become one of the preferred destinations for those looking for quality jewellery as well as friendly and professional services", he said.

He also hoped the legacy could be carried on by his children and grandchildren in the future, as well as opening up opportunities for business expansion through the opening of more branches in Kuching and other locations.
