In a statement on Wednesday, the school said three aid police officers would be deployed in the immediate vicinity of the school to tighten security controls following the incident.

"The student suspected of involvement is currently in police custody and has so far lost his TPH status.

"The case is still under police investigation and the school will continue to provide full cooperation to the relevant authorities", according to the statement.

In addition to the deployment of auxiliary police, security checks on individuals entering campus areas were also carried out as part of measures to tighten security controls.

TPH also reviewed its safety procedures in consultation with relevant authorities, as well as investigating the implementation of more comprehensive security measures for the long term.

TPH also confirmed that the school session will resume tomorrow after obtaining approval from all relevant authorities.

"The school's senior leadership team will hold a meeting with students to discuss the incident, provide assurances to them, address raised concerns and provide counseling support to students who need it", according to the statement.

The school also urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information as it could interfere with the investigation, while respecting the privacy of all involved. - TVS
