The IPD is preparing to face the Sarawak People's Republic

BINTANGOR, 21 Oct: Regional Police Headquarters (IPD) Meradong has increased its preparedness for the 13th Sarawak State Election (PRN) to ensure public safety and order.

Meradong Regional Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Tansli Mering said all officers and members should be on high alert and increase presence in the field to ensure smooth implementation of security duties.

He also emphasized the importance of each member to carry out responsibilities with full professionalism, as well as enhance integrity and comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) established throughout preparation and implementation of PRN.

"In other words, increase the integrity and adherence to the SOPs established during the preparation and implementation period of PRN", he said while speaking at the monthly meeting of IPD Meradong in the IPD Meradong Assembly this morning.

In other developments, the district's overall crime index recorded a 50 percent decline for the period January to September this year.

Tansli said that achievement should be sustained through continued efforts to curb criminal activities, including illegal gambling, online fraud and drug abuse.

He also reminded all police officers to avoid corruption, abuse of power and any acts that could compromise the integrity and defame the good name of the team.

At the same ceremony, 54 members received a letter of appreciation from Managing Director, Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, in recognition of their contributions and services.

Tansli also reminded the residents of IPD Meradong to make thorough preparations to ensure safety and smoothness of the Meradong Festival as well as the Speed Boat Race scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 1.
