SIMANGGANG, Oct 27: The Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) 2026 programme for the Sri Aman Division aims to attract 100,000 visitors over the three-day event, which will run from Oct 30 to Nov 1 at the Sri Aman Sports Complex.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the programme will feature a variety of entertainment and cultural activities and serve as a platform to bring government services closer to the public through 170 service counters involving 52 government agencies.

Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Operations) and chairman of the SKS 2026 Southern Zone Sri Aman Division organising committee, Datu Hii Chang Kee, said the attendance target was achievable given the range of attractions planned throughout the event.

He said the main highlights included cultural and entertainment performances on October 30 featuring artists such as Mawat, followed by the Konsert Rakyat on October 31, featuring Baby Shima, Bob Yusof, and several other popular performers.

“To add to the excitement, we are also organising an online contest offering more than 100 attractive prizes, including a Perodua Bezza car, motorcycles, electronic appliances, gadgets, and jewellery,” he said at a press conference following the SKS 2026 Sri Aman Division Coordination Meeting at the Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) building here on Monday (Oct 26).

Hii added that the Sri Aman’s Kitchen and Sales event, which showcases a variety of local food products, including those made from ikan bulu (a local fish species), is also expected to attract visitors.

In addition, the Fun Walk Traditional Costume event on the third day will showcase the uniqueness of local cultural heritage, with participants wearing traditional attire featuring creative and innovative touches.

However, he stressed that centralised government services remained one of the most important components of SKS 2026.

“A total of 170 service counters involving 52 government agencies will be available to make it easier for the public to access various services directly.

“Visitors will also have the opportunity to view exhibitions showcasing the Sarawak Government’s development initiatives and achievements,” he said.

He encouraged residents of Sri Aman Division and surrounding areas to attend the programme with their families and take advantage of the one-stop government services provided.

Meanwhile, the caretaker Sarawak Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, is scheduled to officiate the pre-launch ceremony for SKS 2026 in Sri Aman Division on Oct 30.

The official launch by caretaker Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Oct 31 will highlight the programme.

Following the launch, Abang Johari is scheduled to attend a luncheon with the Sri Aman community and its leaders before visiting the Batang Lupar II Bridge at 3pm. — DayakDaily
