SARIKEI, 24 Oct: Senior Vice President of the United Progressive Party (UPP) Sarawak, Datuk Len Talif Salleh is ready to accept the party's decision if not elected to retain his seat in the Kuala Rajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) at the upcoming state election (PRN).

Len Talif who is also a Member of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) Kuala Rajang said that renewal of candidate ranks is not new in the UN, but rather part of the party's approach to ensuring leadership continues to grow according to current needs.

"Each election opens an opportunity for the party to determine the appropriate leadership line to continue the development agenda and bring people's aspirations to a better level.

"If my term of service in politics ends after three terms, I will still consider the opportunity given to me as an honour and will not dispute the party's decision", he said.

He said this when he was met by the media after officially closing the 1994 Domestic Violence Act Legal Advocacy Program here today.

However, Len Talif stressed his readiness to continue serving should he be given a mandate again to represent the people of Kuala Rajang, as there are still various development plans to complete.

He said that during 15 years of engaging in politics in the area N.41 Kuala Rajang, various development efforts have been planned and he hoped all the initiatives could be continued until the set targets are reached.

He also paid tribute to Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the trust given to him to fulfill his responsibilities as a representative of the people throughout his tenure.

Meanwhile, Len Talif emphasized the importance of maintaining continuity in the leadership of the Sarawak Joint Party (GPS) to ensure that implementation of development projects, especially high impact initiatives, can be continued for the benefit of society. - TVS
