Golden Citizen dead, two cars collided on FAC Road

KUCHING, Oct. 27: A 61-year-old golden citizen died while another was seriously injured in a two-car crash on FAC Road here this morning.

Kuching ACP Chief of Police Alexson Naga Chabu said that his side received a report about the accident at around 6:57 am.

"An initial investigation found that the accident is believed to have occurred around 6 am when a Perodua Myvi was driven by a local man aged 20 from Malihah Park towards New Town Semariang.

"On arrival at the scene, the Myvi driver was believed to have lost control before entering the opposite lane and then collided with a Perodua Viva coming from the opposite direction", he said in a statement today.

He said that as a result of the violation, Myvi's driver suffered severe injuries to his right knee.

"The 61-year-old driver of Viva, was confirmed dead by the Assistant Medical Officer of Sarawak General Hospital at the scene around 6.47am.

"The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987", it said.
