KUCHING: International Quran recitation champion, Nur Syakura Mohamad Musa hopes to nurture more talented qari and qariah in Sarawak by sharing her knowledge and experience with the younger generation.
The Sarawakian, who emerged as the women’s champion at the 2026 International Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly in Kuala Lumpur recently, said she intends to help develop future Quran reciters.
“I hope my achievement will inspire more young people to deepen their knowledge of the Quran and strive for excellence in recitation,” she said in a report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).
She told the media this after paying a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) complex here today.
She was accompanied by a delegation from the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) and presented the trophy she won at the international competition.
During the meeting, Abang Johari congratulated Nur Syakura on her achievement and expressed pride in her success in bringing recognition to Malaysia, particularly Sarawak.
“The Premier congratulated and thanked me for bringing honour to Malaysia, especially Sarawak, at the international level,” she added.
