KOTA SAMARAHAN: A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car along KM17, Jalan Kota Samarahan–Sadong Jaya last night (Oct 13).
The fatal crash occurred at around 8.30pm, involving a Yamaha Lagenda motorcycle ridden by the victim and a Perodua Bezza driven by a 44-year-old man.
Preliminary investigations showed that the male victim is believed to have lost control before veering into the path of the oncoming car.
Kota Samarahan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
His body was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) mortuary for further action.
Meanwhile, the Bezza driver escaped unhurt in the accident.
Mohd Irwan said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Anyone who witnessed the accident has been urged to contact investigating officer Insp Iman Ho Min Yi at 012-2620018 to assist in the investigation.
