A total of 49 longhouses involving 751 households in Ngemah received electricity supply under the Rural Electrification Scheme (RES) Last Miles since 2020.
“Five more longhouses involving 82 households are currently undergoing implementation, with completion expected in stages from the first quarter of 2027,” said Datuk Ibrahim Baki (GPS-Satok).

He was responding to queries from Anyi Jana (GPS-Ngemah) during question and answer session on Wednesday (Oct 14).
Ibrahim, who is also Deputy Minister of Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS), said the main challenges in implementing the projects included obtaining wayleave approvals, difficult terrain and limited access to project sites.
The RES Last Miles projects in Ngemah involved a total implementation cost of RM13.1 million, he added.
