Motorcyclist killed in lorry collision crash

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A 22-year-old local motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle collided with a lorry along Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa here on Friday (Oct 16).

Kota Samarahan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the accident occurred at around 8.30 am at Kilometre 20 of the road.

He said preliminary investigations found that a Daihatsu lorry, driven by a 43-year-old man, was travelling from Kampung Pinang towards a quarry at Jalan Bukit Stigang.

“Upon reaching the location, the lorry was believed to be slowing down to make a left turn into a junction when a SYM VF3i motorcycle approaching from behind collided with its right rear section.

“The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel,” he said.

Police received a report on the accident at 9.18 am.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, with investigations ongoing to determine the exact cause of the collision.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the accident or has relevant dashboard camera footage to contact investigating officer, Insp. Iman Ho Min Yi at 012-262 0018 to assist in the investigation.
