Luxury cars destroyed in a fire on Pan Borneo Road

BINTULU, Oct 14: A Mercedes E250 was completely destroyed in a fire at U Batu 18, Pan Borneo Road Bintulu-Miri, last night.

According to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sarawak's Operations Movement Centre (PGO), a team from Bintulu Fire and Rescue Hall (BBP) received an emergency call at 11:23 pm before arriving on site at 11:47 pm.

"On arrival at the scene, the fire department found the vehicle burning with estimated total destruction.

"The driver managed to escape before the bomb squad arrived and no casualties were reported in the incident", the statement said.

The extinguishing operation is carried out using an auxiliary channel flow starting with the supply of water from the engine tank until the fire has been completely extinguished.

The fire was brought under control at 12:05 p.m. and operations were terminated a minute later after an inspection confirmed the area was safe.

A total of 10 BBP members were involved in the operation.
