KUCHING, 15 Oct: Sdn Bhd's (KLW) heritage cakes plan to expand the market into Peninsular Malaysia through the opening of an operating hub in Shah Alam, Selangor, as early as this December.

The Chief Executive Officer of KLW, Dr. Mohamad Hafeezi said the hub is expected to start operations in late January next year to facilitate customers on the peninsula to obtain the company's products.

"If God wills, we'll open operations in Shah Alam as early as this December or as late as January next year. With a hub on the Peninsula, Heritage products will be more easily available to customers there", he said while addressing KLW's 8th anniversary celebration at Hotel Pullman, Kuching, on Wednesday.

In addition to the expansion of the market, KLW also plans to have its own building in Satok, Kuching, which will be known as Heritage Pavilion.

According to Hafeezi, the plan reflects the company's development as well as its commitment to strengthen operations through ownership of premises.

He said, the growth of the company should also be accompanied by labour progress, with KLW intending to expand its team and provide more opportunities for its employees.

"When a company advances, we want employees to go forward. We don't want to reduce the team, but we want to grow it again and continue to expand the legacy wing", he said.

KLW has previously expanded its operations to Samarahan City and Sabah, and now plans to expand its presence to Peninsular Malaysia market.

Meanwhile, KLW Director Dato' Abdullah said the company's success over the past eight years is a result of collaborative efforts by all employees regardless of their positions and responsibilities.

"This success is not only the result of management's efforts, but the contributions of everyone from drivers and security personnel to the entire staff", he said.

The opening of a hub in Shah Alam and the development of the Heritage Pavilion in Kuching is expected to strengthen KLW's operations as well as expand Sarawak's platinum cake brand reach to more consumers. - TVS
