KUCHING, 20 Oct: Kuching Regional Police Chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline and commitment amongst the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) citizens to ensure quality service to the community is always at its best.
He warned each member not to abuse power or conspire with criminals for temporary gain so as to undermine self-respect, family and team.
"The appointment gives power to lead, but integrity determines the level of public confidence in an officer, working with sincerity, honesty and commitment in line with the emphasis on service excellence by the PDRM Sarawak leadership.
"In the fight against crime, policymakers need to increase their capacity and resilience, especially in dealing with ever-changing digital and cybercrime threats", he said during his address at IPD Kuching's Monthly Meeting for the Month of October 2026 at the Badminton Hall of Tabuan Jaya Residential Police Complex here today.
He said the investigating officer should conduct a thorough and professional investigation, ensure complete investigative papers and take appropriate follow-up action.
"Members in the field should prioritize safety, discipline and teamwork while performing their duties, be close to the community, provide fair and efficient services and inform case developments to complainants to build public confidence in the team.
"In addition, the disciplinary and welfare aspects of members under their respective supervision should be given attention, including taking appropriate action against violations of the rules in a fair and professional manner", he said.
He also reminded the people of PDRM to take care of their personal health, mental well-being and family harmony so that they can continue to provide the best service to society, team and country. -TVS
