Dead man, motorcyclist collided with car

SAMARAHAN CITY, Oct. 14: A 21-year-old man died after his motorcycle was involved in a car accident at Kilometer 17, Samarahan-Sadong Jaya Road, last night.

Samarahan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the accident occurred around 8.30pm.

"An initial investigation found that the motorcycle was believed to have lost control before entering the lane from the opposite direction and caused a violation.

"The victim was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel, while the 44-year-old Perodua Bezza driver was uninjured", he said in a statement today.

He said the bodies were then taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) Forensic Unit for further action.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

People who witnessed the incident were asked to contact Investigative Officer, Inspector Iman Ho Min Yi, on 012-262 0018 to help with the investigation.
