12 vehicles seized in a special operation in Kuching

The operation by the JPJ Kuching Operations Unit involved inspections on Dato Haji Daud Road, both directions, and Mohd Musa Dato Road.

According to a statement by JPJ Sarawak, as many as 851 vehicles of various types were inspected during the operation, with some faults detected, including driving without valid license, driver's license expiration, not wearing seatbelts and vehicle technical defects.

"Of the 12 seized vehicles, eight of them involve Motor Vehicle License (LKM) violations and expired insurance coverage, while four others were seized due to extreme vehicle modifications.

"JPJ Sarawak affirms that enforcement actions will be continuously continued to ensure road users comply with the established laws and regulations", the statement said.

The public is also reminded to ensure that driver's licenses, LKM and insurance coverage are always valid, as well as ensuring vehicles are in good condition and not making excessive modifications that could affect road safety. -TVS
